Basil is a part of the mint (Lamiaceae) family and is known as "royal herb" or even "king of the herbs." It has light green silky leaves, and the flowers are arranged in a terminal spike that are small in size and white. One of the main uses for basil is an ingredient in cooking recipes.

For Your Pet: Basil is a healthy herb that is good for your pet to have regularly. But it can taste very strong to your pet, so make sure you only give it to them in a limited supply on a daily basis.
