Made from the cacao bean, chocolate is found in many different forms such as liquid syrup, powder, hard candy, or as filling in baked goods.
Is Chocolate item toxic?
Yes, chocolate is highly toxic to rabbits, chinchillas, and guinea pigs because they cannot break down the theobromine or caffeine in their bodies. If your pet eats chocolate, symptoms can include diarrhea, vomiting, tiredness, and loss of appetite. Because it's so difficult for them to process, in serious cases, eating chocolate can lead to death.
Warning: Never feed your pet chocolate as it may cause serious damage and even death.
