Is Christmas Rose item toxic?
The entire Christmas Rose plant is toxic to rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. If a pet ingests this plant, the toxins can cause severe internal issues. When the plant is picked or broken, it exudes a sap containing protoanemonin and other chemicals which are highly toxic. This sap can cause severe burning if it contacts the mouth, eyes, or skin.
