Day lily flower: toxic to rabbits

Day Lily

Hemerocallis

Guideline: Poisonous

Type: Flowers

These flowers are not true lilies but do resemble them. Day lilies have long skinny stems that fork at the top to produce beautiful 6 petalled wide-open flowers. They can be found in a variety of colors like orange, yellow, purple, pink, white, and so on, and may have variable patterns on their petals.

For Your Pet: Day Lilies contain toxins that can harm your pet. If your rabbit eats a day lily, they may experience severe nausea and gastrointestinal pain, however most rabbits tend to stay away from day lilies if they have a well balanced diet.

Warning: Do not feed your pet day lilies as they may get sick if ingested.

Resources: If you believe that your pet has been poisoned immediately call your vet or one of the animal poison control hotlines on this list.
