Often Mistaken For

Is Fennel item toxic?

Fennel bulb, stalks, and feathery leaves are not poisonous to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas in normal portions. Strong flavor and sudden large amounts can loosen stool—introduce gradually.

Should I feed my pet Fennel?

Yes—in small daily portions for rabbits and guinea pigs, and only a little for chinchillas if they accept vegetables.

How much can I feed them?

Offer thin slices of bulb and a few fronds, not unlimited bowls. Introduce slowly alongside hay. Use the calculator linked in this article so veggies stay in rotation.
