Is Larkspur item toxic?

Yes. Larkspur contains toxic diterpenoid alkaloids that affect nerves and muscles. In rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, ingestion can cause drooling, diarrhea, weakness, tremors, breathing depression, and can be fatal. Do not use as browse or forage.
