Lupine, or Lupin, is a genus of flowering plant in the legume family found in North and South America, the Mediterranean, and North Africa. These plants have pale green leaves with little white hairs and flowers called bluebonnets that grow erect, covering the stem. Colors range from mostly blue to white, yellow, and red.

Is Lupine item toxic?
Yes. Lupine species contain toxic alkaloids; ingestion can cause neurologic signs, severe digestive upset, and worse in rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.
