Often Mistaken For

Is Mustard Greens item toxic?

Mustard greens are not treated as acutely poisonous to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas in small portions. The main risks are gas, loose stool, or thyroid-interfering compounds if you suddenly feed large piles of brassica greens.

Should I feed my pet Mustard Greens?

Yes—as an occasional leafy treat for rabbits and guinea pigs, and rarely for chinchillas when introduced slowly. Rotate with other greens; do not replace hay.

How much can I feed them?

Offer a small handful of leaves a few times per week, not a daily mountain that crowds out hay. Introduce gradually alongside familiar greens so gas risk stays low. Use the calculator linked in this article so vegetables stay proportional.
