Poinsettia plants are native to Mexico and Central America and it well known as a significant plant for Christmas floral displays. These plants have thick, dark green leaves and extremely bright red, almost velvety smooth bracts, also known as false flowers.

Is Poinsettia item toxic?

Yes. Sap and plant parts are mildly to moderately toxic to rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas—irritation, drooling, GI upset, and appetite loss are possible.

Should I feed my pet Poinsettia?

No. Keep poinsettias out of reach; do not feed leaves or bracts to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas.

How much can I feed them?

Do not offer as food. If your pet nibbled any part, contact your veterinarian or a pet poison hotline.
