Straw comes from the dry stalks of cereal plants, after the grain and chaff have been removed. It makes up the majority of the crops barley, oats, rice, rye, and wheat.

Is Straw item toxic?

Straw bedding or craft straw is not food. It lacks the nutrition of hay, can be dusty, and may cause impaction if eaten in quantity.

Should I feed my pet Straw?

No. Do not feed straw to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas as a diet item.

How much can I feed them?

Do not offer as food. Unlimited timothy or grass hay is the fiber source; straw belongs in bedding only, and even then monitor chewers.
