The sweet potato is a starchy root vegetable used as an ingredient for culinary purposes. These tubers are most commonly eaten in a sweet potato pie or as a side as a baked potato. Sweet potatoes come in purple, orange, and yellow, however are more recognized when they are orange.

For Your Pet: Sweet potatoes can cause your pet to become ill if eaten as they are not able to digest the high amount of starch in them.

Warning: Do not feed sweet potatoes to your pets as they can cause illness.
