Never feed Sweetheart Ivy to rabbits; it is poisonous.

Sweetheart Ivy

Hoya kerrii

Guideline: Poisonous

Type: Outdoor Plants

Sweetheart ivy here means Hoya kerrii, a trailing houseplant with thick, waxy, heart-shaped leaves—often sold as a single rooted leaf. It is not English ivy (Hedera). Keep pots and hangers out of reach because pets should not chew houseplant foliage or sap.

For Your Pet: Do not feed Hoya to rabbits or other small pets. Chewing the leaves or sap can irritate the mouth and gut and lead to diarrhea or worse—treat any nibbling as an emergency and call your vet.

Warning: Do not feed your pet Sweetheart Ivy as it can cause serious illness.

Resources: If you believe that your pet has been poisoned immediately call your vet or one of the animal poison control hotlines on this list.
