Tissue paper may refer to any paper material such as toilet paper, Kleenex, and gift packing paper. Also, beware of paper materials that contain too many unnatural chemicals.

Often Mistaken For

Is Tissue Paper item toxic?

Plain paper is not a classic toxin like a plant, but it is not food. Inks, dyes, glitter, and fragrances can irritate rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas and raise obstruction risk if large wads are swallowed.

Should I feed my pet Tissue Paper?

No. Do not feed tissue paper to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas. Plain paper can be a shred toy only—not a meal.

How much can I feed them?

Do not offer as food. If your pet swallowed a lot of dyed or glittery paper, contact your veterinarian if appetite or stool changes.
