Toadstools, also known as mushrooms, are a fleshy fungus that usually have a stem, cap (umbrella part of the mushroom), and gills (the ridged underside of the cap) that produce spores. Mushrooms come is many varieties, many are edible to humans, others are extremely lethal.

Is Toadstools item toxic?

Yes. Wild toadstools and mushrooms—including Amanita species—can contain mycotoxins that are dangerous or lethal to rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. Store-bought mushrooms are also unsuitable.

Should I feed my pet Toadstools?

No. Do not feed toadstools or any mushrooms to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas.

How much can I feed them?

Do not offer as food. If your pet ate a wild or store mushroom, treat it as an emergency and contact your veterinarian or a pet poison hotline immediately.
