Vinca

Vinca

Vinca, or periwinkle as it's sometimes called, makes for a nice groundcover plant with its smooth green leaves and trumpet-shaped flowers in a soft blue-purple hue. Folks use it in gardens to spread out and fill empty spots, but it can grow too aggressively and crowd other plants. On the downside every part of vinca contains harmful chemicals that make it poisonous, and these can seriously upset pets if they get into it. So make sure you keep your furry friends well away, and never let them chew on any of it.
