Yogurt is a tangy creamy food made from bacterial fermentation of milk. Bacteria used for fermentation to make yogurt is called yogurt cultures. The specific bacteria for yogurt cultures are called Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. Bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus.

Is Yogurt item toxic?

Not a plant toxin, but dairy cultures are poorly tolerated by rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. Yogurt can disrupt gut flora and may contribute to painful digestive or joint-related complications.

No. Do not feed yogurt or other dairy to rabbits, guinea pigs, or chinchillas.
