Our Harvest Reports update yearly, and are a first glance and analysis of the newly harvested hay. This is what we are hoping (and anticipating) the rest of the year's hay will look like. Yet, nature's quirks make hay-growing and harvesting unique and can lead to a bit of unpredictability with every new batch of hay we receive. As new hay batches from this harvest comes in, typically every 4 to 6 weeks, we'll update you on any changes through our Fresh From The Hopper.

2025 Harvest Report

The 2025 Ultra Premium Medium Timothy Hay we have in stock is currently a second cut. This hay is on the coarser side, with an abundance of thinner stems, and a good blend of leaves. We rated this year a 8.5 because it is a little heavy on the stems. If you are looking for a little softer Timothy Hay then the Soft Timothy might be a great option for you.

Here is the report on what we have in stock:

Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Harvest: Second cut of pure Timothy Hay, it was harvested in July and August of 2025.
Location: Northwestern United States
Color: Medium green
Stems/Stalks: Averaging 10" in length and up to 1/8" in diameter
Leaves: There are some soft leaves averaging about 5" in length. Less abundant than last year, but still present.
Seed Heads/Flowers: Fully developed, averaging at 3" in length.
Leaf Crush: Some may be present, but varies bale to bale. No more than years prior.
Weeds: Potential to see some meadow grass in a few bales, however it is very light.
Brown Leaf: Very minimal.
Dust: None.

Initial Analysis Summary: The Medium Timothy Hay this year contains an abundance of thinner stems, with flat leaves and seed heads throughout.
