The Bunny Bum Ribwort Plantain

About a pinch to ½ teaspoon per day for an average healthy adult rabbit, sprinkled over hay or greens. Guinea pigs usually need a smaller pinch.

If your pet leaves the leaf behind, cut back. Ribwort plantain should add scent and foraging interest—not replace unlimited grass hay and fresh water.

No. This is a dried ribwort plantain leaf herb topper, not a medication, digestive remedy, anti-inflammatory, anti-diarrheal, or cleansing treatment. It may add forage interest on the hay pile, but it does not treat disease or fix gut problems.

If your rabbit needs clinical help for digestion, stool issues, or other illness, talk with an exotics vet. Do not increase portions hoping for a stronger health effect.

If your pet already has soft stool, poopy butt, gas, or a diagnosed GI condition—or is pregnant, nursing, or on medication—check with your exotics vet before adding ribwort plantain.

Start with a few pinches mixed into hay for 3–5 days. Watch appetite and droppings each day.

If everything looks normal, move to the full sprinkle amount. If stool softens or your pet skips hay, stop the herb and call your vet if symptoms persist. Some rabbits simply dislike leafy toppers—offer a different forage if they refuse it.

Yes—guinea pigs are among the intended species. Offer a smaller pinch than you would for a rabbit, and always alongside unlimited hay and fresh water.

Introduce slowly and watch droppings. If your guinea pig has a history of digestive issues, ask your vet first.

Keep the pouch sealed in a cool, dry cabinet away from sunlight. Transfer to an airtight jar if you prefer.

Avoid humid storage areas. Discard if you see mold, musty smell, or pests. Choose 150 g to try it or 600 g when you already know your pet likes it.
